Shubha Vedula, simply known as Shuba, is an American singer/songwriter of Indian descent. She was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and has been singing professionally from a young age. In 2012, her musical ability gained worldwide attention when she reached the semi-finals on the 12th season of American Idol, a televised singing competition created by Simon Fuller.

Since appearing on American Idol, Shuba finished high school and was accepted into the University of Chicago where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Afterwards, Shuba moved to Los Angeles to focus on music and songwriting. She started to develop her sound and credits the video-sharing social network, TikTok, for her keeping her creative. Shuba started to develop a cult following with her comedy/singing videos, and her TikTok exploded with 1M+ followers within a 4-month period.

Shuba has since released her single “Gimme Gimme” independently in May 2020, and the song reached over 50K streams organically on Spotify within a month without any promotion. She is continuously working on original music while engaging with her fans all across the world.
